EUVP VISIT STORY – Ms Lhaki Dolma, Cine Artist and Former Member of Parliament, Bhutan

My heartfelt thanks to European Union Visitors Programme (EUVP) team for an enriching experience.

I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for the exceptional Visitor's Programme you organised for me. The experience was nothing short of extraordinary, thanks to the meticulous planning and thoughtful consideration of every detail.

The tailor-made itinerary was impeccably crafted, ensuring that each meeting and engagement was not only informative but also highly relevant to my interests. I had the privilege of meeting remarkable individuals who share both a passion for certain issues and a keen interest in fostering stronger Bhutan-EU relations.

As one of Bhutan's esteemed partners, EU’s continuous support for the democratic process in Bhutan is particularly commendable and your assistance to Bhutanese parliamentarians and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) has been instrumental in empowering key stakeholders crucial to a thriving democracy. The EU's initiatives and support in green energy and trade collaboration offer significant opportunities for revitalization and prosperity to our shared objectives for the mutual benefit of Bhutan and the European Union. Some of my most interesting meetings were with the European External Action Service (EEAS) and the European Commission’s Directorate General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA).

On the personal front, the networking opportunities provided during the programme were invaluable, setting a solid foundation for my professional and personal growth in the years to come.

I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the entire EUVP team for their dedication and effort in making this experience truly unforgettable. This opportunity has been both enriching and enlightening, and I am sincerely grateful for the chance to participate.
