Name: Violeta CVETKOSKA

Function & responsibilities: Associate Professor and Head of EUi

About me … I am an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics-Skopje, where I teach operational research and business analytics fundamentals. I'm also the head of the EUi. It is my specialty to teach students and managers how to use their own data to get a competitive advantage via operational research, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI). Throughout my academic career, I've visited and realized study stays at some of the world's most prestigious universities in Europe, North and South America, and Asia. My research interests include the application of operational research, analytics, and artificial intelligence methodologies and techniques in banking and finance, education, digitalization, IT industry, performance measurement, small and medium-sized enterprises, the green economy, and the tourist industry. Numerous scientific articles I've written have been published in high-ranking international publications and conferences. IFORS and the Creative Decision Foundation have acknowledged and honored my excellent capacity to undertake original research. Also, I actively participate as a member of the editorial boards of scientific journals, international societies, working groups of the Association of European Operational Research Societies (EURO), and national and international projects.
My best memory of the EUVP programme … Taking part in this program will give you the marvelous chance to meet and talk with brilliant experts from the European Parliament and the European Commission about important issues for your nation. We discussed the twin transitions (digital and green), the national strategy for AI implementation, the role of entrepreneurship education and digitalization for the success of SMBs, economics, banking, research and innovation, vocational education and training, and the incorporation of digital technologies into education. This program allowed me to broaden my views, gain vital knowledge on certain areas, and support my nation on its way to a brighter future.
I would welcome connection requests from the Alumni who….have working knowledge of the green economy and digitalization. We may learn from one other's experiences, successes, and possibilities to work together and contribute to the execution of these important aspects via our relationship. Besides, I would be happy to discuss education, banking, and finance.
The challenges that I/my organisation face(s) and would like the support of other Alumni are… in research projects with a focus on the twin transitions and providing innovative solutions for the countries.

Connecting EUVP Alumni is relevant because... each of us has a unique "currency" that reflects the information and abilities we've earned, as well as our unique personality traits. The ability to raise the currency's value via networking is a huge gain. We've all heard that two heads think better than one, and so forth.
My hopes for the EU relations with my country are… focused on digitalization and environmental projects. Developing nations should be encouraged to use AI in the public and commercial sectors in order to be a strong partner for cooperation in this digital age, which is opening the door to automation quicker than expected. Otherwise, the gap between wealthy and impoverished nations would widen even more. We also have a responsibility to take care of and improve our environment. We can only achieve more if we are united!
