Concept Note
The EU is experiencing significant shifts that are reshaping its contours and challenging its existing social, cultural, economic and political structures. The challenges such as geopolitical shifts, economic disparities, migration, changing demographics, climate change, the rise of nationalism, Brexit, and technological advancements are influencing the changing nature and contours of the institutions typical of the EU. The changes have an impact on the EU's governance structures, policies, and decision-making processes. By embracing transformation, the EU can capitalize on opportunities, address vulnerabilities, and foster sustainable development while upholding its fundamental values. There are opportunities and challenges arising from the shifting landscape. By addressing the challenges and opportunities brought by transformation, the EU can build a more inclusive, prosperous, and sustainable future. The EU is developing strategies and policy interventions to adapt and strengthen its institutional framework. One of the major thrust areas has been to foster cooperation and solidarity among member states to collectively design the future of the EU. The present circumstances necessitate a proactive approach to navigate the complexities and uncertainties of the 21st century and become resilient. This international conference aims to explore the changing nature of institutions, challenges and mitigation strategies of the EU and their implications on member states, institutions, and citizens.
